We are teaching the last scheduled North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun (CCH) courses at the Charlotte Rifle & Pistol Club of the year, on Nov 6th, 2022.
This class is required by North Carolina in order to obtain your Concealed Carry Handgun Permit. It is comprised of an 8-hour mandatory classroom training with additional time on the range for practical shooting, to ensure you are a safe shooter.
In the class, we will cover a number of critical things:
Legal - Understanding NC gun laws ( ≥ 2 hrs )
Handgun Safety
Handguns
Marksmanship Fundamentals
Carrying Concealed Safety Issues
Presentation Techniques
Cleaning and Maintenance
Ammunition
Proficiency Drills
No live ammunition is permitted in the classroom, by law. However, we will have a number of demonstration handguns to help the learner feel first-hand how different guns feel in their hand, the importance of selecting a firearm that "fits" you, and even have laser target practice systems for dry-fire exercises.
We will spend the legally required amount of time in the class, but we will not waste your time twiddling your thumbs while the other round of students that doesn't include you are in the pistol range shooting for their qualification test. Instead, you will be offered instruction on cleaning and maintenance of handguns and be able to use our dry-fire / Laser target systems for practice before your turn on the range.
When registering you must specify your name as it appears on your North Carolina Driver's License to ensure that the certificate is printed with the exact legal name matching your ID.
NOTE: There will be a written exam on the content of the course along with a shooting evaluation. Students must pass in order to receive their certificate.
