GlockStore +2 Extension for G43 Magazine

Updated: Dec 2, 2020

A phenomenal option that adds two more rounds to the ultimate single-stack Glock that begs to be your every-day carry gun.

Why this magazine?

If you are following this blog, you will remember my post about testing what you carry. This is because I had a major failure with an extended magazine for my daily carry gun, the Glock 43. I use an extended magazine because I have large hands, and I really liked how this extended magazine made the G43 fit.

The magazine that you see above is the Plus 4 Extension for the Glock 43 from GlockStore and it had the catastrophic failure that I described in that other blog post.

My alternative that I am VERY pleased with is the Plus 2 Double Diamond Extension for the Glock43 also from GlockStore. It is aluminum instead of plastic, and therefore adds a little bit more weight and (of course) only adds 2 rounds instead of 4, so brings the G43 to 8 rounds instead of 6. However it still fits the hand very nicely.

Not only does this magazine make the G43 fit the hand nicely, it is also truly fabricated outstandingly well. MUCH better than the plastic plus 4 extension, and is basically just a smaller version of the phenomenal double diamond plus extensions for the full size magazines from GlockStore shown here next to the G43 +2 magazine. All of these magazines are for 9mm rounds, by the way:

Installing the Double-Diamond Plus 2 Extension

The installation of the extension onto a factory magazine is quite easy. As usual, the GlockStore tries to think of everything when they send it to you.

Take a knife & shave off the little plastic tabs, circled in the image here:

The following image shows it shaved off. I just used my pocket knife, but I’m sure you could use just about anything.

After you shave down the plastic nodules, you slide the magazine into the extension. Then insert the silver locking pin, using the smaller of the Allen wrenches, as seen below.

Then insert the new elongated spring with the factory follower (the part that the bullets rest against). Then you put the bottom plate on with the final screw using the larger of the two Allen wrenches.

Here is a picture of the assembled magazine.
