NC Concealed Carry Handgun (CCH) course

Unlike Justin Trudeau's Canada, we live in the United States of America, and we are absolutely permitted to "buy, sell, transfer or import handguns" - and as the grandson of 2 Holocaust survivors may I just say "Thank G-d"!

I assume you found this website because you are a North Carolina resident and are looking to take the important step of getting yourself a permit for carrying a concealed handgun.

Why would you want to an NC CCH permit? Well, besides carrying concealed in this state:

  1. You will be legally allowed to carry a concealed handgun in the state of NC. We go through this in-depth in the class, but even having your gun in your glove compartment in your car is considered a concealed gun.

  2. There is reciprocity with most other states. That means they honor the NC CCH permit & you are able to legally carry in those states as well. At last check, there were 11 states without reciprocity. For an exact list, I recommend checking on concealedcarry.com which also has a great app for your Android or iOS phone. Note: Always check before bringing a gun into another state.

  3. This permit is your background check; allowing you to buy a firearm any time you want in NC without having to get a separate one-time-use purchase permit from the Sheriff's office, and reduces the friction / hassle for gun ownership.

About the LoxxArms Training Course for NC Concealed Carry

This will not be your typical boring CCH class. We are going to have some fun while learning! Your instructors have worked very hard planning this event, ensuring the latest & greatest content is updated in our training materials & finding new & fun things to discuss.

As a reminder: NC mandates that this course be a minimum of 8 hours of classroom time. So, please try to arrive between at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the course, as we will begin promptly to ensure we can all leave on time!

A minimum of 2 hours of the classroom time MUST be spent on North Carolina’s laws related to carrying a firearm. The remaining time we will spend covering safety, what makes a gun the right gun for _you_, maintenance, proper handling of firearms, shooting stances, storage, safety, safety & more safety :-).

We will throw in a lot of relevant examples from modern culture; since we live is a world that provides us with such rich memes & things caught on video! We’ll also have multiple "dry fire" station where you can practice shooting with a laser on target & a [very] large selection of different handguns for you to get a feel for & see what fits you best & how they all work.

We will most likely keep the lunch break short.. So, bring snacks & drinks (no alcohol). There are restaurants close by, but if you want to leave earlier - you should definitely bring your lunch so we can power through faster. At our last few classes, we had a helper run out & pick up sandwich orders for folks. We will probably do that again.

Let’s talk about guns:

  • The instructor(s) have guns to rent, and ammo to purchase, if you need it.

  • If you legally own and possess a handgun that you are comfortable shooting, please bring it.

  • Bring at least 30 rounds of ammunition. At least 50 rounds is recommended.

  • You should definitely bring the gun into the classroom in a case or holster, but leave your ammunition locked in your vehicle.

  • THERE IS NO LIVE AMMUNITION PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOM.

Things to bring with you:

  • Closed Toe Comfortable Shoes (aka: Sneakers)

  • Please avoid open-collared shirts / low-cut shirts (in order to protect against hot ejecting brass casings going down your shirt (yes this happens a lot)) - I have a small burn scar on my neck from a former students ejected brass, it does get hot.

  • Eye protection & ear protection (if you have it). The instructor has limited sets of "eyes & ears" for you to borrow if you do not have your own.

  • Again, No Live Ammunition is Allowed In the Classroom!!

  • Bring a lunch / snacks - or we will have a runner go pick up orders from a sandwich shop.

  • Something non-alcoholic to drink

  • Writing utensils for any notes you want to take

We are really looking forward to hosting you & having a great, safe & educational time!
